Teens take our DMV-approved 30-hour Nevada Driver Education course to satisfy their driver education requirement for getting their driver license if they are under age 18. This course option allows you to skip professional behind-the-wheel training.Teens can enroll starting at age 15.

How Online Nevada Driver Education Course Works

Our online driver education course is full of great benefits and can be completed in just three easy steps:

Step One: Register.

Registration is quick and easy. You'll create an account that includes a username, password, and email address. Then you'll read some instructions about the course. After that, you're ready to get started!

Step Two: Take the Course.

The 30-hour course consists of engaging lessons made up of reading material, videos, animations and games on traffic laws and defensive driving techniques. Nevada state law requires the course to be 30 hours long. You can proceed through the course at your own pace. Come and go as often as you like. Each time you log in, we automatically take you right back to where you left off.

There is a short multiple-choice quiz after each lesson. You must pass the lesson quiz to proceed to the next lesson. You can take the quizzes as many times as necessary to pass.

The final part of the course is a 10-question multiple-choice final exam. You must score at least 80% to pass. Most people pass on their first attempt, but don't worry! We allow unlimited exam retakes at no extra charge, so you can retake the exam until you pass.

Step Three: Receive Your Certificate of Completion.

Safe2Drive will email you your Certificate of Completion after we receive your notarized affidavit verifying you have completed the course and the final exam without outside assistance. The notarized affidavit is required by the Nevada DMV for students at all online schools. If you are under age 18, your parent or legal guardian must sign the affidavit as well. Nevada allows you to notarize documents in person or online. In an effort to make the process as easy as possible, we will provide you with a list of both in-person and online notaries, though you are free to use a notary that is not on the list we provide. The signed and notarized affidavit must be submitted via online upload, email, fax, or mail. Once we verify your notarized affidavit, we will email you your Certificate of Completion. You will also be able to print a copy online from your account.

Don’t get stuck unprepared! Some traffic schools do not advertise that you will need an affidavit to obtain your certificate, but in order to be in compliance with the laws, they will require you to submit it. What is the Nevada Driver Education Course?

Nevada Driver Education is a formal program that teaches teens how to drive safely on Nevada's roads. Nearly all teens under the age of 18 must take driver education to obtain a driver license.

How does the 30-hour online Nevada Driver Education course work?

It's simple. After you create an account (which takes less than a minute), you can start Safe2Drive's 30-HR driver's ed course. You will be prompted to pay at the end of registration.

The course is available online 24/7. That means you can log in and out whenever you want and from any computer that has Internet access. When you log back in, you can return to the exact page where you left off. Doesn't that sound better than spending your weekends in a classroom?

At the end of the course, there will be a final exam. Don't worry though. You can take it as many times as you need in order to pass. Once you pass the test, you must submit to us a notarized affidavit asserting that you have completed the course and final exam without outside assistance. The Nevada DMV requires this for students at all online schools. Once we receive your notarized affidavit, we will email you your Certificate of Completion. Who must take Nevada driver's education?

Nevada beginning drivers under the age of 18 must complete a driver education course if they want to obtain a driver license. You can enroll in a driver education course at age 15.

What is the 30-HR Nevada Driver Education course?

The 30-HR course is a 30-hour online course that satisfies the Nevada Driver Education requirement. No professional behind-the-wheel training is required with this course.

In addition to completing this 30-hour online course, you will also need to complete 50 hours of behind-the-wheel driving with a licensed driver who is 21 or older and has been licensed for at least one year seated next to you at all times. Ten hours of the experience must be completed in darkness. You must keep a written log of the dates and times of this behind-the-wheel driving and submit it when you take your driving skills test.

How much does the 30-hour Nevada Driver Education course cost?

How long will it take for me to finish the Nevada Driver Education course?

Why do I have to submit a notarized affidavit to get my certificate?

The Nevada DMV requires all online schools to collect a notarized affidavit verifying that the student has completed the course and final exam without outside assistance before issuing them a course certificate. This is required by law.

How do I get a duplicate copy of my Certificate of Completion?

If you lose your certificate, you can request a duplicate by calling Customer Service at 1-800-763-1297.

Will I need to take a Nevada high school driver's ed class in addition this course?
