How Does Colorado Traffic School Work?

Drivers who have been convicted of a traffic violation can take our Colorado Traffic School course if they have been ordered by a court to do so or if the court has granted them permission to take a defensive driving course to dismiss their ticket and keep points from being added to their driving record.

Completing the course is easy and can be done in three simple steps:

Step Two: Complete Your Coursework.

Our online Colorado Traffic School course consists of 8 lessons on topics ranging from defensive driving techniques, how to interact safely with other roadway users, how to drive in various weather conditions, and a review of Colorado traffic laws. The course is self-paced and there are no lesson timers. The course would take an average person 4 to 6 hours to complete.

At the end of each lesson is a short multiple-choice quiz. You must score at least 80% to pass. Don't worry--you can take the lesson quiz as many times as necessary to pass.

There is a 25-question multiple-choice final exam at the end of the course. You must score at least 80% to pass. You are allowed unlimited retakes of the final exam at no additional cost.

You can pay at any point in the course before taking the final exam. That means you can try the course for free!

Step Three: Get Your Certificate of Completion

We will e-mail your certificate to you after you pass the exam. Print, sign, and send it to your court. Be sure to follow-up with your court about 7-10 business days afterward to make sure the court has processed your completion.
