What is defensive driving?
Imagine you’re approaching an intersection and your light turns green. As you prepare to enter the intersection, you notice the vehicle to your right doesn’t seem to be slowing down for its red light. What do you do?
If you said you would stop even though your light was green, then you already know something about driving defensively. The other car didn’t seem to be slowing down, even though it was supposed to because it had a red light. Defensive drivers do everything possible to avoid being in or causing a collision. Defensive driving is all about being alert to potential hazards and actively looking for ways to keep you and your vehicle safe.
