Indiana Driver Safety Program (DSP) Courses

Take our Indiana BMV-approved Driver Safety Program (DSP) courses for any of the following reasons:

  • To satisfy a BMV notice
  • To satisfy a court order
  • To get a 4-point credit on your driving record

We offer 5 different versions of the DSP course:

  • Basic DSP: This basic version of the course includes text, videos, animations and games.
  • Basic DSP (Streaming Video): This streaming video version of the course is composed of videos you stream online.
  • Teen DSP: This version of the course is tailored to drivers under the age of 20.
  • Mature Driver DSP: This version of the course is tailored to drivers age 55 and older.
  • Truck Driver DSP: This version of the course is tailored to drivers with a Commercial Driver's License.

All versions of our DSP course are approved by the Indiana BMV and are 4 hours long, per the BMV's requirements.

Indiana Driver Education Course

Take our Indiana BMV-approved online Driver Education course if you are at least 15 years old to satisfy licensing requirements, to prepare for your knowledge exam, or to refresh your knowledge of driving skills and laws.

Get on your way to obtaining your learner’s permit if you are age 15. Teens under age 16 are required to submit proof of enrollment in a behind-the-wheel course to obtain their learner’s permit. Most behind-the-wheel schools require you to complete the 30 hours of classroom/theory portion of Driver Education before you can enroll in their course. Our 30-hour online course satisfies your 30-hour coursework requirement. Check with your behind-the-wheel provider to see what they require.

Please note that in addition to the 30 hours of coursework you complete for this course, you must also complete 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training with a licensed driving school in order to complete all Driver Education requirements and qualify for your probationary driver's license at age 16 years and 90 days.

Indiana Mature Driver Improvement Course

Take our Mature Driver Improvement course to get an auto insurance discount if you are age 55 or older. Please check with your auto insurance provider to ensure they provide discounts for completing a Mature Driver Improvement course.

Indiana Insurance Discount Course

Take our Insurance Discount course to receive an auto insurance discount if you are under the age of 55. Please check with your auto insurance provider to ensure they provide discounts for completing an Insurance Discount course.

How It Works

1. Register.

Registration is easy! Create an account by choosing a username and password and entering your email address. Then you'll enter your contact info and read some basic information on the course. That's it! You're ready to get started.

Driver Education: If you're taking the Driver Education course, you'll make payment at the end of the registration process.

2. Complete the Course.

Driver Safety Program (DSP) Courses: All of our DSP courses are four hours long per Indiana's requirements and consist of short lessons full of text, videos, animations and games (note: the streaming video version of the course has videos only). After each lesson is a lesson quiz. You must pass the lesson quiz to proceed to the next lesson. You can retake the lesson quiz as many times as necessary to pass. At the end of the course is 10-question, multiple-choice final exam. You must score 80% to pass. You may retake the final exam until you pass at no extra charge.

Driver Education Course: Our Driver Education course consists of 30 hours of coursework per Indiana's requirements. The course is made up of lessons that consist of text, videos, animations and games. After each lesson is a 5-question, multiple-choice quiz. You must pass the lesson quiz with a score of at least 80% to proceed to the next lesson. You can retake the lesson quiz as many times as necessary to pass. At the end of the course is a 20-question, multiple-choice final exam. You must score 80% to pass. You may retake the final exam until you pass at no extra charge.

Mature Driver Improvement Course: Our Mature Driver Improvement course consists of short lessons full of text, videos, animations and games. After each lesson is a lesson quiz. You must pass the lesson quiz to proceed to the next lesson. You can retake the lesson quiz as many times as necessary to pass. At the end of the course is a 10-question, multiple-choice final exam. You must score 80% to pass. You may retake the final exam until you pass at no extra charge.

Insurance Discount Course: Our Insurance Discount course consists of short lessons full of text, videos, animations and games. After each lesson is a lesson quiz. You must pass the lesson quiz to proceed to the next lesson. You can retake the lesson quiz as many times as necessary to pass. At the end of the course is a 10-question, multiple-choice final exam. You must score 80% to pass. You may retake the final exam until you pass at no extra charge.

3. Get Your Certificate of Completion.

Driver Safety Program (DSP) Courses: After successfully completing the Driver Safety Program course, you will be awarded a Certificate of Completion. You will have the option to print a copy for your records. We notify the BMV within 24 hours if you complete the course Monday through Thursday. We notify the BMV the next business day (usually Monday) if you complete the course Friday through Sunday.

We suggest that you check with the BMV within 7-10 business days after you complete your course to make sure everything has been processed on their end. It can take up to 10 business days for the BMV to process your completion, so please plan accordingly to meet your deadline. Your license may be suspended if you do not complete your course on time.

Please Note: If you are taking a course because of a court order, you are required to deliver your certificate to your court.

Driver Education Course: We will email you your Certificate of Completion immediately after you complete the course and pass the final exam. You can also print a copy of your certificate from your account.

Mature Driver Improvement Course: You can print a copy of your Certificate of Completion from your account immediately after you complete the course and pass the final exam. Submit a copy of your certificate to your auto insurance provider to receive the discount.

Insurance Discount Course: You can print a copy of your Certificate of Completion from your account immediately after you complete the course and pass the final exam. Submit a copy of your certificate to your auto insurance provider to receive the discount.
