Safe2Drive is approved by the Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to offer a Basic Defensive Driving course and a Refresher Defensive Driving course.
The Online Delaware Defensive Driving Refresher course is for students who have already taken the Delaware Basic Defensive Driving Course and wish to extend their benefits. You may take a Refresher course to obtain a 15% auto insurance discount for an additional 3 years and to receive a 3-point credit on your Delaware driving record.
In order to be eligible to take the Delaware Refresher course, you must have taken the Delaware Basic course and one of the requirements below must apply to you:
The 3-hour Refresher Defensive Driving course is made up of 7 timed lessons. At the end of each lesson, students must take a 2-question multiple-choice quiz. Students must answer both questions correctly in order to move on to the next lesson in the course. These quizzes can be taken as many times as necessary to pass.
At the end of the course, there is a final exam that consists of 10 multiple-choice questions. You must score at least 80% to pass. You may take the final exam as many times as necessary to pass.
After you pass the final exam, we instantly email you your Certificate of Completion. You can also print a copy of your certificate from your account. Sign the certificate and deliver it to your insurance provider to receive your insurance discount. We will submit your completion to the DMV for you so you can receive the 3-point credit on your driving record. Remember to check with the DMV 7-10 business days after you complete the course to make sure they have processed your completion!
