What Is TX Online Teen Driver Education?

Safe2Drive's Teen Driver Education option is designed for teens between the ages of 14 and 17 who want to take the classroom portion of their driver education course completely online! Unlike Parent-Taught Driver Education, this course allows teens to complete their course independently. As per Texas rules, the Teen Driver Education course is 32 hours in length.

Our course is fully approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) to meet your Texas driver education course requirements.

Steps for Students

Getting Started

It takes just two easy steps to get on your way:

  1. Register for our Texas Teen Driver Education course online.
  2. Get started with your Texas driving school program right away!

Course Procedures

Students taking our course utilize the "Block" Method of instruction.

It works like this:

  1. Register for the Texas Driver's Ed course.
  2. Complete the first six lessons of online instruction.
  3. Take the Knowledge Test online with us -- FREE!
  4. Receive your Six-Hour Completion Certificate by email for FREE immediately after you complete the first six hours of instruction.
  5. Apply for your TX learner license.
  6. Complete the remaining 26 lessons of the online Teen Driver Education course.
  7. After successful completion of the course, we will email you a Certificate of Completion (DEE-964) for FREE.
  8. After completing the course, you will transfer your course hours to either a commercial driver education school or to your parent so that you can begin Behind-the-Wheel training. Check out our driving school partner for behind-the-wheel courses.
  9. After successful completion of Behind-the-Wheel training, you can apply for your driver license!
