Ohio Adult Remedial Course

Please be careful when selecting your reason for taking this course. Many students choose the wrong reason at the start and do not realize it until after completing the course. Often, they don't discover the issue until they arrive at the BMV and the clerk informs them that the reason is incorrect. At that point, they must leave the BMV, contact us, pay a $10 duplicate certificate fee (we are charged per certificate by the Ohio BMV), wait for us to issue the corrected certificate, and then return to the BMV. Choosing the correct reason from the beginning prevents the hassle.

If you are not sure which reason to select, please check with your court or the Ohio BMV before completing the course.

2-Point Credit

Select this reason if you're taking this course voluntarily to get a 2-point credit on your driving record. Please note: You may only take this course for a 2-point credit once every three years and up to five times in your lifetime.

Affirmation: I am aware that I am not entitled to a two-point credit if on this date the points assessed against my record are less than 2 points or more than 11 points.

Juvenile Suspension

Select this reason if you are 19 years of age or older and are taking this course because of a juvenile suspension that occurred before the age of 18.

Suspension for OVI/OVUAC

Select this reason if your license was suspended due to being under the age of 21 and under the influence of alcohol while operating a vehicle.

12-Point Suspension

Select this reason if you are taking this course to satisfy a BMV requirement in order to be eligible to retain your license or to have your license returned due to a 12-point suspension.

Court Ordered

Select this reason if you are taking this course because you were ordered by a court to take an adult remedial program.

Affirmation: I am aware that by choosing court ordered as my reason, that I will not receive a two-point credit from the OH BMV and if I am eligible and want a two-point credit in addition to meeting my court requirement, I will need to register and complete a second course.
