Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education (TLSAE) Course
Take this state-authorized 4-hour course on traffic laws and substance abuse to qualify for your Learner's License if you are under age 18* or to qualify for your first Driver License if you are age 18 or older.
Please Note: Due to a recent law change, if you are under age 18, you must complete the TLSAE course prior to August 1st for it to count toward your licensing requirements. Students under 18 who complete their TLSAE course prior to August 1st may still use their TLSAE course completion certificate for one year after the completion date.
Starting August 1st, a 6-hour DETS course will be required for drivers under 18 to satisfy their licensing requirements and the 4-hour TLSAE course can no longer be taken for these purposes. Stay tuned – while Safe2Drive is not currently approved to offer DETS, we are working on this course and hope to have it approved soon.
Drivers age 18 and older can continue to take TLSAE to satisfy their licensing requirements.
