California Traffic School in Shasta County

Safe2Drive is licensed by the California DMV to offer its online traffic school to drivers who get a ticket in Shasta County. By completing traffic school, the court dismisses your traffic ticket. Safe2Drive notifies the court you completed traffic school the same day you finish.

Court Locations

Shasta County has two locations for traffic court. One is the Redding Courthouse at 1500 Court St, Room 319, in Redding. The other is the Burney Courthouse at 20509 Shasta Street in Burney.

Courtesy Notice

A courtesy notice is mailed to the address listed on the citation. The notice contains general information about requirements and options available for resolving the ticket, which may include: (1) the amount of bail, (2) traffic school eligibility requirements, and (3) contact information. Contact the court if you do not get a courtesy notice within three weeks of receiving a citation. You are still responsible for taking care of the ticket even if you do not get a courtesy notice.

Eligibility for Traffic School

You may be eligible for traffic school if you have not attended traffic school within the last 18 months from the date of the last violation. In order to attend traffic school, the full bail amount must be posted prior to registering with a traffic school.

Request Traffic School

Traffic school is offered as an option to resolve your case if you are eligible. Upon completion of an 8-hour traffic school course, your case will be reported to the Department of Motor Vehicles as a dismissal. Completion of traffic school may help keep your insurance premiums at a lower rate.

How It Works

You can register on our web site by choosing Shasta County. Pick the traffic court that is on your courtesy notice. Follow the prompts to complete the course and pass the exam. Safe2Drive will electronically send the certificate directly to the court. We will also email your Receipt of Completion to you for your records. You can also print a copy from your account. Please allow 1-2 days for the court to process your completion. Of course, you can call or email us anytime.

Red Light Citations

Citations issued by automated enforcement systems are issued to the registered owner of the vehicle that is on file with the Department of Motor Vehicles. The citations are issued by the Redding Police Department and mailed within 15 days of the incident to the address provided by the DMV. A picture of the person driving the vehicle at the time the violation occurred appears on the citation you receive from the law enforcement agency. If you were not the driver, complete the appropriate section on the citation and mail it immediately to the address on the citation.
