Complete our Defensive Driving courses at your own pace, whether it’s all in one sitting, or a little each day. Every time you log in, we’ll take you back to where you left off in the course. Basic Defensive Driving Course
Our Basic Defensive Driving course is for drivers who have never taken a Defensive Driving course, or drivers who have taken a Defensive Driving course before, but their insurance discount for the course expired two or more years ago. Take this course to get a 10% discount on your auto insurance for three years, and earn a 3-point credit on your Delaware driving record!
This course consists of 11 short lessons full of reading material, videos, animations, and even fun games on traffic laws and defensive driving practices. How long does the Basic Defensive Driving course last? Well, per Delaware state requirements, our course is six hours long. There is a two-question multiple-choice quiz after each lesson that you must pass in order to proceed to the next lesson. You can take the quizzes as many times as you need. At the end of the course, you’ll take a 10-question final exam. You need to score 80% on the final exam in order to pass, which most students do on the first try. If you need to take the exam more than once, no problem! We allow unlimited retakes at no extra charge.
When you complete the course and pass the final exam, we’ll email you your Certificate of Completion, which you can also print from your account. Sign the certificate and deliver it to your insurance provider to receive your discount. We’ll submit your completion to the DMV for you so you can receive the 3-point credit on your driving record.
Defensive Driving Refresher Course
You should choose our Defensive Driving Refresher course if you have taken the Basic course and your Basic course benefits are within 180 days of expiring or you are within the two years following the expiration of your Basic course benefits. By taking our Refresher course, you can get a 15% discount on your auto insurance, and earn a 3-point credit on your Delaware driving record!
Our Refresher course is three hours long. There are seven short lessons, and after each lesson you’ll need to pass a 2-question multiple-choice quiz in order to move on to the next lesson. Just like in our Basic course, you’ll take a 10-question multiple-choice final exam at the end. You’ll need to score at least 80% to pass, and you can retake the final exam as many times as you need in order to pass. Most people pass it on the first attempt.
When you complete the course and pass the final exam, we’ll email you your Certificate of Completion, which you can also print from your account. Sign the certificate and deliver it to your insurance provider to receive your discount. We’ll submit your completion to the DMV for you so you can receive the 3-point credit on your driving record. Make sure to check with the DMV 7-10 business days after you complete the course to make sure they process your completion.
