You may earn a minimum of 10% discount on your car insurance premium by completing a 6-hour defensive driving course. Drivers 25 years old or under must complete a 36-hour driver training course. You must choose a course that is approved by the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS).
The discount may apply to your entire premium or portions of it. You must check with your insurance company to know the terms available to you.
The discount is effective for three years.
DDS imposes eligibility requirements on the driver:
Approved schools issue drivers who complete the course a certificate that is submitted to the insurer.
