Please tell us if your Court is a Justice of the Peace or a Municipal Court.
Traffic tickets are administered by either a Justice of the Peace (JP) or a Municipal Court. JP Courts are under the jurisdiction of the county government while Municipal Courts are managed by cities. Chances are your court is a JP Court if you received a citation by a Texas Highway Patrol Officer. Your court is probably a Municipal Court if a local officer issued you a citation.
