The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) administers all point reduction programs. If you are taking this course for a single violation, you must let the court know you intend to take a defensive driving course to keep points off your driving record. You can also take the course to remove up to three existing points from your record. Once you pass the final exam, print, sign, and submit your certificate of completion to NDDOT to get either five violation points or three existing points removed from your driving record.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol manages the insurance discount program. You submit you certificate of completion to your insurance company to obtain an insurance discount.
